Blue Cross on the Faroe Islands (established 1904) is a
deaconal organization working in the field of treatment and prevention
of alcohol and drug problems.

Blue Cross is a voluntary organization based on christian values
and with members from the lutheran evangelical church. Our main goals is
to prevent use of any kind of drugs, fight for a drugfree society and
to assist people to recover from drug abuse and drug-related problems
through treatment and following-up programs. All members of Blue Cross
are practising a drugfree lifestyle.
The Blue Cross (originally established in Switzerland in 1877)
is today an international movement and is to be found in over 50
countries throughout the world, predominately in Europe and Africa - and
to a lesser extent in North and South America and Asia.

Blue Cross International Federation has several times been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize together with
IOGT International and The World's Women's Temperance Association.
